H2 Equity Partners (H2), founded in 1991, is one of Western Europe’s leading and most entrepreneurial ‘value-add’ investment firms, with offices in the Benelux and the United Kingdom. H2 focuses on mid-sized companies with an attractive long-term outlook and significant transformation potential through (accelerated) growth and/or operational improvements.

H2 raised its most recent Benelux fund (ca. € 150 million) in 2019, with a substantial amount invested by the H2 investment team, together with a select group of long-term investors who have worked with H2 in earlier funds.

H2’s typical investment targets require equity tickets of €5 – €25 million for majority ownership, although larger investments are possible with our institutional investors. We are a sector-agnostic investor and cover a wide range of industries and markets, focusing on fundamentally profitable sectors with underlying growth (potential).

H2 focuses on three main types of transaction:

  • Succession and divestment: owner succession, corporate carve-outs and management buyouts;
  • Funding of accelerated growth – including buy & build programs;
  • Operational improvement programs (including turnarounds).

We work very closely with management and other key stakeholders to deliver performance improvements in complicated situations. We work actively with management on challenges such as strategy development, building winning teams and assessing and realizing operational improvement potential.

We know what it takes to run a successful investment process, to evaluate transaction opportunities quickly yet thoroughly; and to work successfully with management while creating a culture that builds success.
