Parenco (later Reparenco) was a leading producer of packaging and graphic paper products, operating a large-scale paper mill and recovered paper business in the Netherlands. The company produced high-quality paper based entirely on recovered material and supplied customers across Europe and North America. Reparenco combined Parenco’s paper production operations with Reparco’s recovered paper sourcing, collection, sorting, and trading activities, creating a fully integrated and sustainable business model.
Our investment
We acquired Reparenco from Norske Skog in 2012, which had planned to close the mill, and supported management in revitalising and transforming the company. Together, we successfully converted an idle paper machine to produce packaging-grade paper, positioning Reparenco as a highly competitive and profitable producer in the growing packaging segment. The company was acquired by Smurfit Kappa Group in 2018, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of paper-based packaging, creating significant strategic synergies and securing a strong future for the business and its employees.
