Akzo Nobel Inks (ANI) produces printing inks for its four main ink divisions: Narrow Web, Wide Web, Sheet Feb and Liquid Inks. The company has production facilities in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK and the US and a worldwide sales force with supporting regional offices in the Far East, South America and Australia. H2 was approached by Nesbic (currently Bencis) to jointly finance a management buyout of ANI. H2 provided advice support and coaching to enable the firm’s management to successfully execute the profit-improvement program. The business was sold to BASF Inks (DE), and in a simultaneous transaction CVC Capital Partners acquired the combined companies.
